Mapping and Blogging Workshop

Mapping and Blogging Workshop

The workshop began with an interesting group activity that gave participants an opportunity to map their own personal assets. One volunteer from the group lay down on a chart paper while others drew an outline of his/her body. Each participant then mapped out their own unique strengths and qualities, significant relationships and organizations that had contributed to their lives and significantly influenced them. As an outcome of this activity participants got present to how information can be mapped and analysed.

Facilitators then informed participants about various forms of mapping, interpretation of maps and how research data can be mapped. Several activities were conducted to facilitate mapping each group’s research communities.

As an outcome of this session each group created community maps and photo essays using information that they had collected from the field. These were then uploaded as blogs during the second half of the workshop.
